Celebrating the life of

Delores Hanson Williams

January 11, 1941 - September 26, 2024

Delores Hanson Williams

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Delores Hanson Williams, who peacefully departed this life to walk hand in hand with her beloved husband, Charles, to their eternal home. Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Delores was the cherished daughter of the late Annie Mae and Fredrick Hanson.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory. Delores is survived by her siblings, Linda Hernandez, Diane Stacks, Gary Hanson (Deb), Michael Hanson (Becky), and Ernest Hanson. She also leaves behind her devoted daughters Joanne (Gene) Dobson, Tammy (Stephen W.) Altman, Connie Silva (David), and Regina Cobb (Jeff).

Delores was the proud grandmother of Jason (Ashley) Shipman, Christopher (Katy) Shipman, Brittney (Daniel) Jackson, Erica (Buefard III) Smith, Stephen E. Altman, Ashley Cowart (Brad), Robert Amerson Jr., Jordan Silva, Eric Cobb, and Joey Cobb. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Lili Shipman, Riley Shipman, Zoey Jackson, Amelia Shipman, Daniel Jackson III, Berkeley Jackson, Quinton Smith, Isaiah Smith, Lillian Smith, Hayden Altman, Stephen L. Altman, Logan Cowart, Amelia Cowart, and Olivia Cowart.

Affectionately known as “Nannie,” Delores was the heart of her family. She brought warmth, laughter, and wisdom to every gathering and was always ready with a comforting hug, a hearty meal, and a loving lesson. Her passions included arts, crafts, and a deep faith in Jesus, but her greatest joy was simply being with her family.

Delores will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her love, spirit, and joyful presence will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

A candle has been lit!

Although I didn't have the honor of meeting you on this side of heaven, I feel like I met you through your granddaughter. The way see speaks about her "Nannie" is a testimony to the love and affection you have given her and your family. The way your granddaughter loves her family and others is the way you have loved. Rest in peace.

- Carla Frazier, Savannah, GA

My prayers go out to all the family and friends that loved and cherished Delores and may you find peace and comfort during this time of sadness. I never met Delores but have heard many stories through her daughter Regina "My Bestie". I am so sorry that I am not able to travel to the service, but I will be thinking of you all as you honor this special lady.
